katie's day out

italy are through to the semis of the world cup after beating ukraine 3 nil last night! It's Germany next; that will be a great game and best of all I'll be off the next day so I'll be able to watch it1

The Rodrigo's are back in town for a while. I met Amber for the first time, a beautiful little girl who's 9 months already. Sharima's here too and she got us into the singapore swimming club for an afternoon of chit chat, chee chong fun and chee kway. Her kids are HUGE! Enzo's 12 and Emile is 3 and a bit. Indie wasn't there. And Jade! Oh my goodness she is gorgeous! She is 7 and such a mature girl. Lovely! Anyhow the kids all had a swim including Kate and Amber. They had a splash in the pool! Yes, needless to say they were very cute!

Kate's leaving in less than a week to Italy. I'm trying my best not to think about it but it keeps creeping back into my thought processes. I'm feeling a little sad... ok, I'm feeling a lot sad, but I'm trying to convince myself that there's nothing I can do about it and that whatever Katie feels while she's in Italy for the week that I'm not won't be detrimental. It might even be good for her (this last bit I'm not too convinced about). The only thing I hope is that she won't be sad for the first week. IF she's happy, then everything will be ok.

Have to wake up at 6 tomorro to this triathlon gig... Bugger! Means I'm missing the england vs portugal quarter final. Nevermind. I'll live - I hope.
