i leave for italy!

Wow, talk about a roller coaster day! I'm so excited that I'm leaving for italy today and I;m gonna see my little baby! She's amazing, apparently she's having such a great time with her cousin, laughing and just really happy. I really wonder what her reaction to me will be when she sees me. It'll be interesting to see if she recognises me instantly or if it'll take time for her to warm up. I wonder if she's thought about me. I don't think babies can recollect memories if they haven't been reminded of them.

Then J just rang me to tell me that he's been retrenched. It's got me thinking about how transient my time at espn can be and how important it is for me to keep myself connected so that when it does happen (I no longer see it as an if because of the number of people around me I've seen retrenched. It's almost like death. YOu see it all around you and you know it's just a matter of time before it comes to say your time is up). I shall think more about this on the plane.

Dad is here. I think we're off to have dinner and then I'll be taking a cab to the airport. Can't wait!
